Udupi: Boycott hotels with ‘Halal’ boards – Kuilady Suresh Nayak

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (KR/EP)

Udupi, May 28: “We see boards stating ‘Halal’ in several hotels in the country. ‘Halal’ is a belief of Muslims. Muslims say that they should eat only meat made Halal. Muslims should slaughter animals facing the direction of Mecca reciting prayers from the Quran. The slaughterer should observe Sharia, etc,” stated district BJP president Kuilady Suresh Nayak.

“However how far is it right to make Hindus eat mutton and chicken made Halal in Hindu hotels with boards written as Halal? Is it an attempt to thrust Sharia law on Hindus? Will, it not hurt the sentiments of majority Hindus? Therefore, any Hindu hotels with ‘Halal’ boards and if ‘Halal’ is mentioned on food packets, those are meant only for those who follow Sharia law and not for Hindus. Hindus should boycott them,” stated Kuilady Suresh Nayak in a press release.

My God,slowly people are starting to make politics where no t needed is.why look at boards what is written ?It can be for people who follow this halal system.others need not make issue out of it.Do you want to eat there.go and do it.when not go to another.why should one boycott them and start new politic? It also is destroying others existence.Be bit tolerant towards others ,live peaceful and show to others your friendship. Not always on heels to brake .Corona has shown to us to be tolerant towards others.

We muslims spend thousands of rupees in restaurant which serves halal foods. We don’t see “Halal” sign when we go for a veg meal or a fish meal. Every religion has their own rules. If you don’t want our business then we have no problem. It’s your people who will suffer if Muslims stop going to Hindu restaurant which don’t serve halal food. Your people are happy with “meen oota” and “tarkari oota” whose billing is around 150-200 rs. If we muslims go to eat fish meal we order additional fish apart from fish curry rice and we pay 3000-4000 rs. for 4 person. Our 1 time bill is equal to 15 days ration of your people. Alhamdulillah we are blessed with health and wealth. Unlike you people who spend their half earnings on liquor.

Onthe Jasthi aanda pand saibere...Your gujuri people also spend Rs 4000 for four persons?

I know many muslims who take liquor and consume drugs. Do not adivse and show off too much. You people do all nonsense but behind the scenes. Other community people do it openly. That is the only difference

For so many years i have eaten non-veg and veg food in many hotels and restaurants. Whether it is Halal, Brahmin, Military , Shetty, Pai, Prabhu, Pereira, Reddy, lingayat khanavali, Andhra, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharastra, Punjabi , Rajasthani , Mangalorean , north Karnataka, south Karnataka, north India south India so on and so forth or any other thing has not mattered, I have been looking for food which is tasty and with reasonable price range has made me to eat at the place.

Now, why to target something -Halal- which we never bothered and make it an issue.

Tomorrow someone will say in a vegetarian restaurant only this religion people can come and not others. Are becoming Taliban or for that matter fundamentalist to even talk about the food eating habits

Surprised why these ideas strike to people from Mangalore and Udipi and no effect at the capital city Bangalore. Are we becoming less educated now?

    Lobo
... why the killing of animals should be only in Halal. There are many other ways of killing animals in less brutal way. Sikhs follow jatka where a single blow to head will kill the animal with less suffering compared to halal. Even though many non-muslim hotels serve halal food, there is no need to display it. Around 15 years back there were many muslim hotels in Mangaluru which used to open fully during ramzan time. Gradually these hotels started opening only in the evening. Under whose influence these things are happening ? If they are so strict about their food habits , others can also be more conservative and implement their practice of what to display and not to display in the hotel board !!!

Kishore : If you are happy with the situation as mentioned by you then it is your wish. My request to you do it also in other parts of the state why restrict it to Udipi and Mangalore only. If you are able to achieve something out of this then it is good for you
