Kasargod: Two suspects arrested for transporting 7,704 packets paan by tourist bus

Kasargod, May 27: Kasargod town police personnel confiscated 7,704 paan products which were being transported by tourist bus and arrested two persons in this connection. The arrested suspects are Nellikatte Salethadka resident, Mohammed Riaz (28) and Povval, a resident Mohammed Naushad (30). Police conducted a raid based on definite information and arrested the suspects from the new bus stand here on Tuesday night.

The products were hidden in four cardboard boxes and were taken to Ernakulam from Kasargod. “The paan products laced with the intoxicating substance were bought at Rs 150 in Karnataka and were sold in Kerala at double the price,” said the police.
