Mangaluru: Yellow alert in coast - Heavy downpour expected on Wednesday

Mangaluru, May 27: Due to surface breeze over the Arabian sea, the coastal districts of Karnataka are expected to get heavy rainfall on Wednesday, May 27. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for coastal districts.

Since the last some days, sporadic rainfall is experienced at a few places on the coast. In the coming days, this might get intensified. Rainfall between 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is likely to hit the coast. The rain will be accompanied by a strong wind.

Both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts experienced hot, sunny weather on Wednesday with clouds occupying the sky during the evening hours. On Tuesday, 36 degree Celsius temperature was recorded at Panambur, while the minimum stood at 27.2 degrees.
