Only two flights, handful of passengers on second day of operations at MIA

Mangaluru, May 27: On Tuesday, the second day of resumption of flight operations which were suspended due to coronavirus scare, two flights were operated from the airport here as in the first day.

SpiceJet flight from Bengaluru which arrived at 10 am on Tuesday brought only four passengers. Over 12 passengers left for Bengaluru in that flight. The IndiGo flight which arrived at 6.30 pm had 15 passengers. Among them, four passengers who came from high-risk states were sent to institutional quarantine. The other passengers will be under home quarantine. When the aircraft returned, 25 took that flight.

On Wednesday again, SpiceJet and IndiGo will operate flights from Bengaluru to here. There is a likelihood of an IndiGo flight from Chennai arriving here at 7.30 pm and leaving at 8 pm. A final decision about operating flights to Mumbai has not yet been taken, sources stated.
