Bhatkal, May 24: Due to mandatory lockdown enforced from Saturday 7 pm to Monday 7 am in the district, Muslims across Bhatkal celebrated Eid in the comfort of their homes. The most celebratory time for Muslims, unfortunately, due to coronavirus had to be a quiet affair. Nonetheless, adhering to the orders by the government concerning lockdown, families offered Eid prayers in their homes. Being one of the most auspicious time for Muslims, tight security arrangements were made in the city.
Mawlana Abdul Aleem Khateeb Imam Wo Khateeb, Jamia Masjid and Mawlana Khaja Madani Qazi Jamath Ul Muslimeen Imam Khateeb Khalifa, Jamia Masjid in a video message urged people to maintain peace and harmony in the town. Mawlana Khaja also prayed for world peace, unity among Muslim nations and progress of the people. Further, he prayed for the nation's prosperity on the festive occasion.
"May this special day bring peace, blessings and happiness to everyone. Pray Allah accept our prayers and fasting during the holy month of Ramadan," the Maulana said.
"Inshallah, COVID-19 will be over, so we can be back with our family and friends and hope our masjid will be open soon for prayers. An appeal to the people of the Bhatkal to stay at home during Eid and enjoy the occasion with family," he added.
