Kaup: Scooterist falls into drain at Hejamady, passes away

Kaup, May 23: In an accident which happened near Gundi Road in Hejamady village on Friday May 22, a scooter rider lost his life in an accident after he fell into a drain along with the vehicle. The victim was Sadaqat Ansari (38) from Purnia, Jharkhand.

Ansari was a mason by profession. Since the last two years, he was staying in a rented house in mosque building at S S Road Hejamady along with wife and children. He had left home at around 9 pm in his scooter and had not returned even at 1 am on Friday. Therefore, his brother and another person went searching for him. They found Ansari in a roadside drain along with his two-wheeler on the southern side of Sultan Road, Hejamady.

The two-wheeler rider, who had suffered serious injuries in the legs and head, was taken to the government hospital at Ajjarkad Udupi. At the recommendation of the doctors there, he was taken to Manipal. The doctors at Manipal who checked him declared him brought dead.

Padubidri police, who visited the spot, registered a case.
