Shivamogga, May 22: "Coronavirus has been spreading everywhere. But it cannot harm the demons. I have never suffered from this disease. Have you been infected?" jocularly questioned rural development minister, K S Eshwarappa.

He was addressing a press meet held at the district BJP office in the city on Friday May 22. "How can we manage things if we get confined to our homes because of fear for coronavirus? If legislators, ministers, MPs and officials get scared of coronavirus and sit at home, how can development works move ahead? It is like smashing our heads against a boulder just because we feel it is strong enough," he said.

The minister advised the people not to be panicky about coronavirus, and instead, develop a sense of self confidence to face coronavirus and come out unscathed. At the same time, he said, it is important to take precautionary measuring against contracting this disease.
