Panaji, Jan 19: Member of Parliament and general secreatary of the Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi visited Goa for few hours on Tuesday, January 19.

During his brief visit, Rahul Gandhi interacted with the Goan students at the University grounds in Bambolim followed by two brief meetings with the members of the Goa Youth Congress and the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee members respectively.

Rahul Gandhi ducked a question on the increasing number of student suicides in Maharashtra while interacting with students as part of his nationwide youth interaction programme which, party officials say, allows him to understand the young minds of India.

The 39-year-old son of Congress president Sonia Gandhi instead preferred to make a random statement on the rejuvenation of the Congress-backed National Students Union of India (NSUI) and its internal elections, ignoring the question on suicides.

"Earlier NSUI leaders used to be nominated. Now the students are going to choose their leader in an election. I am here to see the progress," Gandhi said, refusing to take any more questions and immediately heading for his vehicle.

Rahul Gandhi is very promising Young leader with great vision and love for India. He has real great qualities and surely he will uplift the downtrodden. Rahul's support to youth is incredible. Jai-Hind. Regarding Latthi Charge, it is Needless to say our police are not well organised in controlling the crowd.

In western countries the police force are just articulate. Indian police must respect the public. Latthi charge has become passion for them, because they are weak in their duties. We need highly trained Security personnel in place whenever VIP arrive to visit the public.Mind you policeman we are a civilised democratic country.

Mr Rahul Gandhi is in the making of a leader. His grass root contacts and urge to know the village life and youth power are really commendable. Leaders are born and not made.

When the young politician breaks the security barrier and mingle among public, he is not bound to be punished. Why then"latthi charge" the curious young Indians for protruding into his car?. If the fault is with security personnel, let them get the beatings but in our country of freedom, common man need not be harassed.
