Kasargod, May 21: The BJP staged a protest against the recklessness of the health officials in keeping the body of a woman pending for postmortem in the mortuary of Kasargod General Hospital for three days. The mortal remains belonged to Shobha from Herur.
After the protest, the body was taken to Periyaram Medical College Hospital, where a post-mortem was conducted and the relatives got custody of the mortal remains. BJP district president and advocate K Srikanth visited the hospital and held talks with the officials.
The BJP alleged that the people of Kasargod district are in a pitiable condition and the officials showed their inhuman side in refusing to conduct a postmortem of the woman's lifeless body for three days. The family had to wait for four days to get the body.
