Panaji, Jan 18: A day-long Hindi workshop held at NIO recently. The theme of the workshop was ‘karyalayeen Hindi aur computer par Hindi ka saral prayog’. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Satish R. Shetye, Director NIO. In his speech on the occasion Dr. Shetye said that he is very optimistic about the progressive use of Hindi in his organization. Dr. Ravindra Nath Mishra, Professor (Hindi), Goa University was present as special guest of the inaugural session.
In his address Dr. Mishra said that he is really impressed with the Officers and the staffs as they were taking keen interest to learn Hindi. He further requested the participants to make a habit to work in Hindi. Dr. Rajiv Nigam, a senior scientist of NIO said that Hindi is growing slowly as a world language and we all are committed to establish our national and official language at his right place. Earlier, Dr. Zakir Ansari, Sub Chairman, Official Language Implementation Committee, NIO welcomed the guests as well as participants This workshop was organized in two sessions with a view to encourage more and more staff to work in Hindi and to sort out their problems occurs during work in Hindi on computer.
In the first session Mr. Devki Nandan Pathak, Pradhyapak, Hindi teaching scheme, taught the Official Language policy of Central Govt. to the staffs and trained them to write notes, draft and letter in Hindi. In the second session Mr. Rakesh Sharma elaborated the easy techniques of machine translation and computer typing in Hindi.
