Bengaluru, May 19: The excise commissioner has permitted the sale of liquor in wine shops in the state till May 31. The sales are allowed only till current stocks last or till May 31 whichever is earlier. The earlier circular allowed sale of liquor only till May 17.
The sales are subject to the following conditions:
1. The liquor shops should sell only sealed bottles at MRP.
2. Liquor shops can dispose of their stock to CL-2 outlets.
3. Bars and restaurants can sell food and snacks only in take away parcels
4. The permission is valid only for standalone CL-4, CL-6A, CL-7, CL-7A, CL-7B, CL-9, CL-16, CAL-17, CL-18 shops and wine shops.
5. Only the current stock can be sold. Purchase of new stock from KSBCL depot is not permitted.
6. The rules do not apply to liquor shops in containment zones.
7. The liquor shops will be held responsible for any violations. The excise department reserves the right to cancel or suspend the license for violations.
8. Liquor shops are not allowed to operate in containment zones.
9. Liquor can be sold by liquor shops situated away from containment zones.
10. Liquor can be sold from 9 am to 7 pm. The rules of other restaurants will apply for take away food parcels.
11. Only five customers can be present in the liquor shops at a time. Social distance of not less than six feet is mandatory.
12. Employees of shops should wear mask and gloves. Customers should wear masks and use sanitizer in the liquor shops.
13. The approval does not apply to liquor shops in malls and supermarkets.
14. All the rules and regulations mentioned herein and those relating to Excise Act should be strictly followed.
