Mangaluru: Passenger train carrying migrant workers derails at Padil

Mangaluru, May 19: A train carrying migrant workers derailed at Padil. The 'Shramik' special express train was moving to Jaipur from Tirur, Kerala. When it was passing by Padil, it derailed.

This incident happened at about 1.35 am on Tuesday, May 19. At around 4.10 am, arrangements were made for the onward journey of the workers by providing an alternative engine. The compartments were brought to Mangaluru Junction railway station.

The work of clearing the engine from the tracks was undertaken and the train left the station towards its destination at 6.28 am.
