Udupi: MLA K Raghupati Bhat helps woman to visit her husband in quarantine

Udupi, May 18: Hemavati Devadiga, the woman and her son were undergoing government quarantine at Brahmavar SMS College. The woman had arrived from Mumbai to Surathkal with her son to see her husband who was in ICU.

The MLA was visiting the place when he came across the woman. The woman wept saying that she has arrived after obtaining pass to travel from Mumbai to Udupi and under quarantine. She pleaded to send her to see her husband who is in ICU in Surathkal and assured to get herself quarantined there.

The MLA who responded immediately, held discussions with the DC about government rules. He spoke to Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian as the woman belongs to Moodbidri and asked tashsildar and police officials to send her as per rules. The MLA arranged her transport from Udupi to Surathkal and arranged food.

Raghavendra Kini, Manjunath Hebbar, Brahmavar tahsildar Kiran Gorayya, Beahmavar revenue inspector Laxminarayana Bhat, police sub inspector Raghavendra P and staff were present.
