MRPL has entrusted the execution of its reverse osmosis plant being set up at Tannirbavi, to a private company. The work of laying pipeline was in progress. A boat was kept there to warn other fishing boats which approach the area to change their path as pipeline laying work was in progress. The accident happened when the boat was returning at the end of the day as the strong wind rocked it wildly. All the five persons in the boat fell into the sea but three were immediately lifted out. Santosh was found from the water after some time and admitted into the hospital. His condition is stated to be serious.
Policemen of Coastal Security Police station and Panambur police visited the spot and undertook an investigation. Because of cyclonic influence, the sea is turbulent and reports of strong winds blowing have surfaced.
