Raichur, May 17: In a tragic incident a man, who was under quarantine in a school for suspected coronavirus infection, died due to electric shock.
Baraiah (35), a resident of Gunjahalli village, who was under quarantine at Gunjahalli High School, is the unfortunate victim who lost his life in this incident.
Construction work was going on at Morarji Desai Residential School, which is adjacent to the Gunjahalli High School where the deceased person was kept under quarantine. For the same reason, electric cables were drawn. When Baraiah came in contact with the electric cable he died instantly due to electric shock.
Deceased Baraiah, who was working as an agricultural labourer, had been to Prakasham district of Andhra Pradesh for harvesting dry chillies. When he returned from Andhra Pradesh, the district administration placed him under quarantine along with other labourers at the Gunjahalli High School.
Due to the heavy rain that poured on Saturday, May 16 the electric wire was dangling at a low height from the ground. Baraiah, who accidentally came in contact with the wire died instantly.
DC Venkatesha Kumar and SP Dr C B Vedamurthy visited the spot and conducted the investigation. This incident has taken place under the limits of Yaragera police station.
