Byndoor, May 15: Urging the state government to improve the fundamental infrastructure in quarantine centers, Congress leader Raju Poojary said, "Thousands of people have come down to their native district believing the government to provide them good facilities in quarantine centers. However, these centers face water and food issues.

"Our youth are working in Mumbai for their livelihood. They also contribute financially to the development of their respective native places. They have always helped because of the regards they have on their village.

"It is not right to ill-treat them at this critical moment. Special respect should have been given to people who arrived from outstation states. But today they have to wait for even one meal in a day.

"Quarantine centers lack basic infrastructure. People in these centers are looked after as if they are convicts in prison. They are our people. They work for us in outstation states. The irregularities have to be set right immediately."
