Vijay Mallya offers to pay 100% of loans, urges Indian government to close case

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (SHP)

New Delhi, May 14: Absconded liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who is fighting against his extradition to India, on Thursday requested the government to accept his offer of repaying all his dues and close case against him.

While appreciating the Indian government for announcing 20 lac crore economic package amid the pandemic, Mallya claimed to have been disappointed when his repeated offers to pay his dues are being ignored.

"Congratulations to the Government for a COVID-19 relief package. They can print as much currency as they want BUT should a small contributor like me who offers 100% payback of State-owned Bank loans be constantly ignored?" he said in a tweet.

Vijay Mallya

The owner of the inoperative Kingfisher Airlines, who is wanted in India over alleged fraud and money laundering charges amounting to estimated Rs 9,000 crore, added, "Please take my money unconditionally and close."

Mallya had filed an appeal in the UK Supreme Court earlier in the month, after losing an appeal in the London High Court against an extradition order to India on alleged charges of fraud and money laundering related to unrecovered loans to Kingfisher Airlines.

This absconded liquor baron Vijay Mallya, calendar girl fame and 'Kingfisher' trade mark alcohol brand has not paid his Kingfisher Airlines staff but he was still bidding for IPL team offering millions.

The banks which gave him 'willful defaulter' certificate should answer how he qualifies to bid for IPL Cricket team who has not paid his indebted airlines employees need full investigation under the independent and honest retired judge bench.

His escape to United Kingdom is more dramatic under present Modi government and many questions till not answered.

    1. Did Mallya met with late Finance Minister Arun Jaitley before leaving the country. Whether Jaitley informed PM Modi about the meeting. These things need to be informed to Parliament.
    2. Why CBI converted its Look Out Notice for the detention of Vijay Mallya to Look Out Notice for information?
    3. Is ED issued a summon asking Mallya to appeaar before it. Then other agencies like CBI,SEBI, IT,Service Tax also swing into action over money laundering case. Whether these entire proceedings were mere a eyewash as Mallya had already left the country on March 2.
    4. The United Spirits had signed $ 75 million deal with Diageo on 25 Feb 2016, out of which Mallya got $40 million. How Modi government will confiscate this amount and take action for this patent illegality?
Mallya had taken loans from a consortium of 17 banks led by the State Bank of India to help bail out his ailing Kingfisher airlines. However he left the country with around ₹9,000 crore of unpaid loans and charges of money laundering following as well.

Indian Law Authority should go behind those Bankers who facilitated people like Mallya.... For common people like us.... even if you go home loan.... after submitting all required documents... they still need Guarantor.... Whereas for people like Mallya... himself is the Guarantor??? This rat has to be extradited back to India, made to pay compound interest, cost of litigation and finally jailed for looting banks !!! Only then can this criminal be discharged !!!! Govt should set its priorities right, get over this guy. As of now, getting money to banks is important than getting this guy and provide him security in jail at Tax payers Expenses.

He has done the mistake, he is ready to pay, take the money, plus negotiate with him to also pay the interest for all the due. That is in the best interest of banks and India, not extraditing him. And do what ? , What will Govt achieve or gain if he dies in our prison ?

I have nothing to give to take from Mallaya, but he was a man who did business differently, took bold decisions. Anyone who has flown Kingfisher , will agree that till date it was the best Private Airline by far to come out of India. They were responsible for improving the standards of flying , forcing Jet Airways indirectly to improve themselves to stay in the market. They did all this without burdening flyers much on ticket cost. Of course, as his persona and personnel life, his ambitions were too high, he made some adventures decisions in wrong time of Aviation economy, took risks, flew under loss, Jet Airways Lobby, Praful Patel, Politics resulted in his downfall and he had to flee . He is a defaulter but not Criminal. He created lot of jobs through his business of liquor and Aviation once upon a time. Humiliating a businessman will only send wrong precedence.

When there is no need to pay the loan every person will give you good service in his Dept. Compare to the loan amount taken by him so large he can provide any facility to flier as there is no need to pay back the loan? If he is only a failed business and not a criminal why he ran away? Why he did not pay the Statutory dues collected from employees lije TDS /PF amount. Both r criminal financial activities. He knows things have gone out of hand and is trying to put this case in the hole for now. He knows if this is accepted Indian govt will wait for money as he wishes if we do accept this offer of his case will still go on for 5~6 years best option don't accept this offer once UK Supreme Court rejects his plea bring him back.
