Udupi, May 13: A team of officials who had gone from Udupi to assist people returning from Maharashtra to Udupi is working relentlessly at Nippani, the border of Belagavi on directions from the deputy commissioner, G Jagadeesha.

The officials verify the address of the people returning to Udupi, confirm it and help them to enter the district. They provide details of quarantine, facilities provided by the district administration and other necessary details. The officials help them to set aside their anxiety, arrange facilities to reach the district and make sure that their details reach before they physically reach the district.

People who were facing problems to reach the state border before the team began their service, are reaching smoothly now. Nearly 600 people hailing from Udupi are arriving at Nippani border from various districts of Maharashtra. The team helps them enter the state and Udupi district.

Youth empowerment and sports department assistant director, Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty, Nirmithi Kendra project director, Arun Kumar and assistant district development board’s Kashinath are working in the team.
