Mangaluru: 'Congressmen responsible if coronavirus situation worsens' – MP Nalin

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 9: BJP Karnataka state president and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, has charged the Congress leaders of misleading migrant workers with false information and acting out the drama of holding protest on their behalf. He said that through these acts, the Congress leaders are indirectly trying to proliferate coronavirus infection and had brought together thousands of workers from other states at the central railway station here by overlooking lockdown restrictions. He said that if coronavirus situation in the region worsens, the Congress will be directly responsible.

"On account of bold decisions undertaken by central and state governments, the disease is under control now. Even commoners have joined hands with the government in its fight against this disease. But the Congress has smelt an opportunity and is indulging in cheap politics," he charged, addressing a press conference.

Violation of human rights - Khader

In the meantime, legislator U T Khader, has charged the state government of violating human rights in retaining workers who are ready to go back to their states, under pressure from the lobby of builders. He said that in other states, arrangements are being made to send back workers to their villages. But Karnataka state has cancelled its letter seeking trains to other states to send the workers, he said, and termed the act as condemnable, addressing a press conference.

District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai, said that the BJP and MP Nalin, will be responsible if community spread of coronavirus happens.
