Mangaluru: Gang attacks two brothers with knife, victims hospitalised

Mangaluru, May 8: On a silly pretext, a gang attacked two brothers with a knife on Wednesday night. The names of the gang members have been given as Rahul, Charan, and three others. The brothers who came under attack were Kartik Shetty and Bharat Shetty, residents of Iddya, Suratkal.

At around 10.30 pm on Wednesday, Bharat and Kartik were moving towards the dock from Hoige Bazar in a two-wheeler. When the duo reached Bhagat Singh Road, Kartik received a call on his cellphone. While he was on call, Rahul and Charan who came there in a motorbike objected to the high pitch of the conversation. The two went away after reprimanding Kartik.

Within some time, the duo returned with three others on two motorbikes and attacked Kartik with a knife. When Bharat tried to block the attack, they stabbed him as well with a knife and posed death threats, it is said.

Both the injured were hospitalised. The Pandeshwar police, have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
