Bantwal, May 7: Former minister B Ramanath Rai has urged the government to enable Kannadigas stranded in Mumbai and other districts of Maharashtra to return home while taking all the precautionary measures.
Speaking to press reporters in B C Road on Thursday, May 7, he said that Kannadigas who have migrated to different places in Maharashtra looking for livelihood are facing difficulties. “It is the duty of the government to help them. The government should permit them to return home as they have already arranged buses for their trips,” he said.
“Let the government undertake responsibilities of their medical tests, quarantine and other precautions when they return home. They have already requested for help from local leaders and me. Therefore, I urge the government to look into the matter,” he said. Block Congress president Baby Kunder and Sudeep Kumar Shetty were present.
