Ramanagara: Woman doused with kerosene, torched alive

Ramanagara, May 7: A woman who was made to suffer from dowry harassment since the last several years, was thereafter murdered by pouring kerosene on her body and then igniting a fire. This incident happened near Kannur village in Magadi taluk of the district on Wednesday, May 6 morning.

Kavya (23), wife of Manjunath from Nidagunda near Dabaspet, Nelamangala, was the one killed in this fashion.

Kavya had married Manjunath about five years back. On Wednesday, the two fought on the oft-repeated issue of bringing dowry. The quarrel culminated in Kavya's murder. In this connection, a case has been registered against the husband of the victim, Manjunath, and relatives, Krishnappa and Prabha.

Kudoor police, who have registered a case, have arrested the accused. Kudoor police sub-inspector and police circle inspector B S Manjunath visited the spot and guided investigation.
