Mangaluru, Apr 28: Raju Mogaveera, KAS senior scale officer, who was hitherto serving as the additional director of Integrated Education Campaign Bengaluru, took over as the new registrar of Mangalore University at the administrative block of the university at Mangala Gangotri, Konaje here on Monday, April 27.
In the absence of current registrar of the university Prof A M Khan, vice chancellor P S Yadapadithaya, handed over charge to the new registrar.
Previous registrars of the university and professor of Mangalore University Dr K M Lokesh, and Bangalore University professor Dr Nagenda Prakash, had been replaced before they completed their respective terms. Prof Khan still had balance tenure of about 15 months but Raju Mogaveera replaced him as per the government order.
In the history of Mangalore University, IFS officers Sundar Naik and Prem Kumar, had served as registrar for two terms each. Other than that, mostly the university professors had worked as registrars. Now, Raju Mogaveera has become the third officer from outside the education sector to have become the registrar of the university.
