Bengaluru, Apr 21: A tweet that had appeared in the social media five years back has been attracting lot of attention now. Relating to this tweet, a barrage of criticism is aimed at Tejasvi Surya, Bengaluru south MP, who created the said tweet. Many have now been urging the Prime Minister to remove Tejasvi from the position of the Member of Parliament.
In a tweet he made in 2015, Tejasvi had said that during the last several hundreds of years, 95 percent of Arab women had not had an orgasm. He said that the act of sex for them has largely been for giving birth to children and not out of love.
A businesswoman from there, Noora AlGhurair, has termed this tweet as as derogatory for Arab women and said this shows how Muslims are being treated in India. She also said that this depicts the Islamophobia of the MP. This also she said, shows his upbringing about which she says she pities him. "Even though India has had some great women leaders, you have not imbibed the quality of showing respect for the women. If you get the department of foreign affairs, make it a point not to visit Arab countries. You are not welcome here," she said in an angry retort.
This tweet came to the attention of some, after which many supporters of the said lady have been retweeting the same by supporting her opinion and raining criticism on Surya. Some have also tagged Prime Minister Modi in their tweet, duly asking him to cancel parliamentary membership of Surya.
