Kasargod, Apr 17: The state government said that it has given sanction for people to undertake inter-state travel during the lockdown period subject to certain conditions.
Pregnant women and those coming into Kerala for treatment, visits because of death or serious ailment of relatives from other states, particularly people of Kerala origin, would be given permission based on humanitarian considerations and compulsions.
The district collectors have the power to give sanctions. The pregnant woman need to produce medical certificate of gynaecologists. Along with application besides health-related information, information about people who will travel with them should be provided. Vehicles cannot have more than three persons. Minor children can accompany the pregnant women. Applications can be made through WhatsApp or email to the district collector of the destination. If found satisfactory and eligible, the district collector issues passes, duly noting date of travel and time. The pass along with clearance of the district collector of the places where the person lives should be verified by the staff at the border and then allow the entry of the people into the state.
The persons concerns should be ready to follow the quarantine conditions if any prescribed at the border. Those coming for treatment should submit details and apply to the district collector of the place of destination. The district collector can undertake urgent check and give permission.
Those coming to visit sick persons or in case of death should have obtained vehicle pass from designated officer. They must have certificate about the details of the patient or deceased relative. In all districts, an assistant district collector appointment responsibility has been given to district collectors for handling pass-related issues, chief secretary of the government said in an order.
