London, Dec 15 (IANS) The unravelling of Tiger Woods' philandering life continues with a 31-year-old woman becoming the latest to come forward with details of a six-month affair. Cori Rist says the celebrity golfer wooed her by saying that his marriage to Elin Nordegren was on the rocks, reports The Mirror.
"(He said) that he was not happy at home with his wife, that he would stay there because she was pregnant and they were expecting their first child," mirror.co.uk quoted Rist, named as the golfer's mistress, as saying.
Rist says that Woods, who has been tainted by allegations of serial infidelities with as many as 14 women around the US, including various waitresses, nightclub hostesses and porn stars, is not an honest guy.
"I realised the things he was telling me were false. He has a way to make you believe that he is a very honest and good man. I'm not saying that he's not a good man, but I don't think he's an honest man," she said.
Rist, a stay at home single mother, thought she was the only "other woman" in his life until she woke up in the night to find him secretly texting someone else.
"I'd lay there and realised he would be having a conversation, so I suspected there were others. I asked who he was texting and he would say (he was) checking emails," she said.
In her interview to the US television chat show "The Today Show", she also apologised to Woods' wife.
"I'm just sorry for her pain. I hate that I'm a part of it. I feel that I have to take responsibility for the things I've done. I can't imagine the pain she is feeling right now.
"I was being selfish (when I started this relationship). I didn't think about her, I just believed what he was telling me. I'd just say (to her) that I'm sorry. She's obviously having to be very strong now. I had no idea it would be like this.
"One day I'll have to look my (seven-year-old) son in the face and explain all this."
She said their affair came to an end in September when he complained he could not see enough of her. She claimed they had a physical relationship for six months after meeting in 2006, but remained friends for two years afterwards.
She decided to end it when she saw a picture of Woods, his wife, Elin, and their new daughter, Sam.
Asked if Woods ever paid her, Rist said: "No, never. I wasn't looking to get anything out of this relationship."
Woods admitted to cheating on his wife after a string of women came forward alleging affairs in the wake of his Nov 27 late night car crash outside his Florida home.
