Panaji, Dec 10:
The fate of accused in Russian girl rape case would be decided tomorrow in the high court.

Goa police’s application seeking to cancel anticipatory bail granted to Russian girl rape case accused John Fernandes by a local court will be heard tomorrow, December 11, by the high court in Panaji.

Crime branch, which is investigating the case, today moved a petition before the Goa Bench of Bombay high court pleading to cancel the anticipatory bail of the accused.

Goa police spokesman Atmaram Deshpande told reporters that the Crime Branch has sought custodial interrogation of the accused, which is crucial to investigate this case.

“The custodial interrogation is something much different. The ambience makes the difference,” Deshpande said adding that the accused is right now being questioned without taking him in the custody.

South Goa district and sessions court on December 8 had granted anticipatory bail to John on the condition that he should be released on a bail bond of Rs 30,000, if arrested in this case.

He was also asked to surrender the vehicle, allegedly used in the rape and his clothes which he had worn on December 1 night, when alleged rape happened.

Deshpande said that the accused has surrendered the car and clothes and the formalities to attach them are currently being undertaken by Crime Branch.

25-year-old Russian girl had alleged that she was raped by John by spiking her drink when she was dining with another Russian woman in a shack at Colva beach. The girl was allegedly raped in the car when John took her to isolated spot under the pretext of dropping her back home.

If this man is convicted in the rape case then he deserves punishment no less than being stoned or hung in public as it happens in middle east, men should think hundred times before commiting such inhuman offence. As sarcastic it may sound, but Mr.Chopra be rest assured that Lord does not bless such people, may it be Lord Krishna, Lord Jesus or Allah.

Vicky, a rapist is a rapist. There are no multiple Gods and No amount of religion is enough if one wants to do an evil deed. Are you suggesting that his religion had something to do with his evil deed? ( all religions are man made).

India’s law is so weak that, people commit crime and get away so easily. only if the person is from political back ground or a film star, it will make a news headline, but even they will be able to escape, what about the fate of common people (mango people). System is getting raped by these people, since we are part of the system also to be blamed. John Fernandes case already there is lapse from Police, he will get bail for sure. It’s a shame to all of us, we are unable to protect our guest nor we could give the justice.
