Margao: State Level Youth Festival On Dec 20, 21

Margao, Dec 9:The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Campal, Panaji, will be organizing the prestigious state level Youth Festival - 2009 for choosing the talented youths for participation in the National Youth Festival 2010.

The north and south district level Youth Festival will be held at Gomantak Martha Samaj, Panaji, for north district on December 17 and 18, and for the south district, on December 20 and 21.

The winners of first three positions in each district will be selected to participate at the state level competitions to be held at Gomantak Maratha Samaj, Panaji on December 22, 2009.

The competitions will be held in categories such as folk dances, folk songs, classical vocal (Hindustani), Sitar, tabla, harmonium(light), guitar, Bharathanatyam, Kathak, elocution (English/Hindi) etc.

The Directorate has prescribed that all the participants should be in the age group of 13 to 35 years, i.e., participants should not be less than 13 years old and more than 35, as on December 16, 2010.

The entry forms may be collected from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Campal, during the office time and entry forms for individual and group competitions, which are complete in all respects, may be submitted to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Campal, Panaji on or before December 16, 2009 by 5.00 pm, the Directorate said.
