Raichur: Private hospitals, clinics to face criminal case if they shut doors, warns Sriramulu

Raichur, Apr 5: "The whole country is under a lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic. But private hospitals and clinics should not be closed. If they are closed during this critical time, action will be taken on such doctors and management," warned health minister Sriramulu.

Sriramulu was speaking at the corona control and progress inspection meeting that was held at the zilla panchayat meeting in the city.


The minister directed the officials to work with alertness. He also instructed the district administration to cancel the licences of hospitals which are closed to public now.

The minister has issued an order to instruct all private hospitals of the stand taken by the government in this regard. He said that in addition to cancelling the licence, criminal case will also be slapped on such hospitals and clinics which are closed during the lock down period.

    Private hospitals & clinics closing down is a national level issue.

    Private doctors do not want to take up consultation for the fear of contracting the disease.
    Most of the doctors are having private vehicle & police also giving them pass.

    But, they are fearful of Corona virus, as they have to touch the patient during testing.

    Nothing will happen. Only those who are not in the good books of ruling government might be taken to task. Rest all will be okay with whatever they are doing.

    None of the private clinics are open in most of the places. The administration has totally failed in this respect. If anyone falls sick for reasons other than corona, only God has to save them.

    These politicians enjoy mineral water and A class facilities at the cost of our tax payment. NO one is there to question them. Moreover, this guy has issues with Dr Sudhakar. Worthless people fighting at even this critical time.

    In our area no doctor visiting to clinics since 22nd March, and patients not ready to visit doctors today for flue like symptoms fearing they might be taken to government hospitals for tests.

    The problem Is hospital staff cannot come to work because of lack of buses,rickshaws. Another issue is that even patients are finding it very difficult to commute to hospitals due to stringent police checking and ban on private vehicle use.

    I think the minister does not know the ground reality of hospital staff not attending and the the transportation and movement restrictions. I had to take my relative to BGS Global Hospital, Bangalore, and telephoned them. They said all activities are stopped except emergency. However, if still the patient insists to see the doctor, they said we have to ask the doctor whether he would come to the hospital and told us to sign a big undertaking, that we have come on our own and anything happens to us on carona virus, hospital is not responsible.

    The main entrance of the hospital is closed, but, those who come after signing undertaking, hospital allows the patients through emergency entrance. It is run by very few staff.

    He needs to shave his beard too...before he is allowed inside a hospital....his beard could act as a Gym for Virus and Bacteria....
