Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 5: No new coronavirus positive cases were reported in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Sunday April 5.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 38,631 people have been screened so far, and 4,461 have been placed under home quarantine.
No patient has been quarantined in Wenlock hospital, while 15 have been quarantined in ESI hospital.
As many as 1,342 people have completed 28 days of home quarantine, and have not reported any symptoms. Altogether, 331 samples have been sent for testing, out of which reports of 310 have been received.

Out of 310 reports received, 298 have tested negative, while 12 have tested positive in Dakshina Kannada. On Sunday, 21 samples were sent. The reports of 28 samples received on Sunday have all turned out negative.
Currently, three persons are under observation in Dakshina Kannada.
The 22-year-old youth from Bhatkal, who was the first coronavirus-positive patient in Mangaluru, will be discharged from Wenlock hospital on Monday April 6. He has completely recovered, and his samples tested again on April 2 and April 3 have tested negative.
In Udupi district too, no new case was reported on Sunday. A total of 184 persons, including 12 on Sunday alone, have completed 28 days of quarantine, and a total of 1,147, including 77 on Sunday, have completed 14 days of quarantine.
As many as 718 persons have been placed under home quarantine, including one on Sunday. While 85 patients are in quarantine in hospitals, three were discharged on Sunday. Five have been placed in isolation wards in hospital, out of whom three are suspected to have coronavirus symptoms, and two severe acute respiratory illness (SARI).
One person was discharged from isolation ward on Sunday, and altogether 132 have been discharged so far.
Reports of 12 samples received on Sunday have tested negative. Totally, reports of 190 samples have been received till date.
The number of coronavirus-positive patients remains at three. Reports of 40 samples are awaited. As many as 11 samples were collected on Sunday, which also included seven of those who came into contact with coronavirus-positive patients.
