Bengaluru: State Muslim leaders agree to give details of people who visited Tabligh Markaz

Bengaluru, Apr 3: Muslims leaders of Karnataka state have agreed to give the government all the details pertaining to people who participated in the Tablighi Markaz that was held at Nizamuddin of New Delhi.

A religious convention was held at the Tablighi Markaz mosque at Nizamuddin of New Delhi between March 13 and 15. More than 4,000 people, including people from Singapore and Indonesia. Already 10 people, who had been to this convention have died because of coronavirus infection.

In addition, many who participated in this convention are infected with the coronavirus. They are being treated in New Delhi. There is a possibility that many more have attended this convention from the state of Karnataka. The government is finding it difficult to know the exact number of people who were in the Tablighi Markaz convention. So CM Yediyurappa had a discussion with prominent Muslim leaders of the state.

Many important matters were discussed in the meeting. Muslim leaders, who were part of the discussion, agreed to give information about the people who attended the Tablighi convention from Karnataka. The leaders also promised to cooperate fully with the health workers who visit quarantined people and also to follow the quarantine rules strictly.

Chief minister B S Yediyurappa appealed with the Muslim leaders to work unitedly with the administration till the lock down period gets over to overcome the coronavirus pandemic.
