Mangaluru, Apr 3: After blanket ban on the movement of private vehicles on the roads was enforced since Thursday, April 2 afternoon, and the police enforced the rules and took into possession several vehicles, vehicular movement in the city has become very slender.
The shops dealing in provisions and vegetables are open today from 7 am to 12 pm. However, only a few customers are seen approaching the shops for buying things they need.
There has been heavy checking of vehicles at Kulur. APMC at Baikampady is reportedly empty.
Police have increased bandobast in areas of Jeppinamogaru and Pumpwell. Intense checking of two wheelers and cars is being done. Some two wheelers were seized by the police.
The people perhaps are relaxed in the knowledge that the shops are open at regular hours on all days and therefore they need not stock up things.
