Kundapur, Nov 30: “Our life can be made enduring by art and artist who are the visionaries of human emotions beyond description. Patrons are duty-bound to organize such art exhibitions for the benefit of the enlightened public”, said Uppunda Chandrashekar Holla, former president, Udupi district Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
He was speaking at the inaugural of the newly set-up Shanker Art Gallery, Uppunda, on Sunday November 29.
Holla congratulated the organizers and urged them to arrange art exhibitions in different parts of the district.
S Janardhana, Kishan Kumar Kenchanoor, Srinivas, Rajarama Bhat, D T Seetharam Maiyya, and Manju Devadiga, were the chief guests.
Holla felicitated local artist S Vasudeva Prabhu on the occasion.
U Manjunath Mayya, U Trivikram Rao, Narasimha R, and Ramesh Atthihole who constitute ‘Chittara’, sponsored the programme.
U Balachandra Hebbar sponsored the drawing competition and distributed cash prizes along with certificates to the winners.
