Mangalore, Nov 27: The annual feast of the Blessed Joseph Vaz parish, Mudipu, near here, will be held from Tuesday December 1, to Wednesday December 2, and of the Blessed Joseph Vaz Shrine, Miracle Hill here, on Thursday December 3. The theme of the annual feast this year will be ‘unite us in the shadow of the anointed hands.’
The festal eucharistic celebrations will be held at 10.30 am on Tuesday December 1, with the main celebrant Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest of St Joseph’s parish, Jeppu. Special prayers will also be held for the sick and the ailing.
Holy masses will be offered at 12.30 pm and again at 5.30 pm on Tuesday December 1, for the benefit of devotees arriving from distant places.
The solemn festal holy mass will be held at 10.30 am on Wednesday December 2, with the main celebrant Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.
Holy masses will be offered at 8.00 am, 1.00 pm, 4.00 pm (in Kannada) and 6.00 pm on Wednesday December 2. An hour of adoration to Holy Sacrament will also be held from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
The festal solemn holy mass will be held at the Blessed Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu Hill, here at 10.30 am on Thursday December 3.
Fr Stany Goveas, dean and episcopal vicar of the city deanery, parish priest of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cathedral, here will offer festal eucharistic mass.
Holy masses will be offered at 8.30 am, 1.00 pm, 4.30 pm and 6.00 pm on Thursday December 3. An hour of adoration to Holy Sacrament will be held from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm.
Three days’ novena will be held every day at 4.30 pm from Friday November 27 to Monday November 30 except the 29th. Everyday, special prayers will be offered for various intentions on novena days. A special prayer for the intentions of donors will be offered on Sunday November 29, during the novena. Petitions, thanksgiving holy masses, donations, offerings etc., will be received daily.
Votive offering procession will be held at 3.30 pm on Sunday November 29, from Mudipu parish to Blessed Joseph Vaz Shrine at Miracle Hill. Vehicles will be allowed to take the sick to the Hill Shrine on Tuesday December 1 morning.
