Mangaluru, Mar 25: Konaje on the outskirts of the city has many inner roads which can be accessed to go to Kerala. Though the police force is guarding some roads, many vehicles escape from them from interior roads. So the villagers and police officials took emergency action and closed three inner roads by pouring mud on them using JCB machines on Wednesday, March 25, to prevent the vehicles from Kerala approaching the city.
From the past four days police are preventing vehicles coming from Kerala to enter the city of Mangaluru. However, some vehicle inmates are giving fictitious reasons to the police and trying to enter the city. That is why the police, with the help of the villagers, closed the access by pouring mud on the roads.
Bakrabailu-Pathur on the road that connects Mangaluru-Vittal, inner road at Sulliame that goes to Mudipu and Hosangadi and Poyathabail road that goes from Mudipu to Daigoli are closed with mud now.
The people of these localities are concerned as the number of Covid-19 infected cases are rising day by day in the neighbouring district of Kasargod of Kerala. So they, along with the police closed these roads.
