Mangalore, Nov 26: As the part of series of talks on oncology organized by the combined efforts and collaboration of the post graduate department and department of paediatric nursing, second seminar was conducted on the topic “head and neck cancer” at conference hall, Father Muller Charitable Hospital on Tuesday November 24 at 3.30 pm.
Rohan Chandra Ghatty, surgical oncologist started the session with the incidence of head and neck cancer in India. He highlighted the epidemiology, risk factors, pathology, investigations and treatment. He emphasized that though many treatment modalities have come up for treating cancer, prevention is always better than cure, and the nurses should educate the people and identify the relative risk group and refer them for further treatment.
The session was highly interactive and brain-storming.
