Margoa, Nov 23: The Bharat Scouts & Guides in the state will observe Bob-A-Job week from Tuesday November 24 to Monday November 30.
During this week scouts and guides will visit households in pairs or groups in complete scouts and guides uniform and seek suitable jobs to be done in short time so as to wind up by 6.00 pm. The citizens are requested to co-operate and pay reasonable amount for the work done and enter the amount and sign the special collection card (blue colour) and not a photocopy.
The panchayats and municipal councils are also requested to allot suitable work to be done if any, in a group and pay a justified amount.
The activity is aimed to inculcate the dignity of labour and to promote the philosophy that scouts/guides do not beg, but earn. The fund thus collected is used for the activities in the school, district and state-level. Special appreciation prizes are given for the highest collection in the districts and at the state-level for both scouts and guides, separately.
