Bangalore, Nov 20: Water resources minister, Basavaraj Bommai, who has remained a prominent bone of contention of the dissidents, who have beebn raring for his scalp since the first day they declared a war against Yeddyurappa, met tourism minister, G Janardan Reddy, who has been the most vociferous dissident leader, here on Thursday November 19 and held dialogue with him.
It is said, that Bommai during the discussions, tried to ascertain the reasons for the anger of the Reddy camp against him, and to convince them that he has done nothing to deserve this enmity and to request them not to continue with efforts to seek revenge against him.
Bommai arrived at the office of Reddy, located in Vikasa Soudha here, in the guise of holding discussions on the irrigation projects of Bellary district and dredging work to be undertaken in Tungabhadra Reservoir. He used this occasion to sort out differences between the two, it is learnt.
Bommai reportedly acknowledged the efforts of the Reddy brothers in bringing the former into the BJP fold, the financial assistance they had extended for the election and genuine efforts made by them in ensuring his victory. He also wanted to know from Reddy, what action of his had earned the ire of the dissident camp.
It is said Reddy told him that he does not nurse any grudge against Bommai, and expressed his desire to work in tandem with him henceforth.
