Mangaluru, Mar 15: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Sunday March 15 informed that as many as 377 people have been screened for coronavirus, and no one has tested positive.
"We have screened 377 people in the district. So far 106 people have been kept under surveillance in their homes. We have sent 11 samples for testing today," she said.
"The reports of eight samples that were sent earlier have come. All of them are negative," she added.
"Nine persons were admitted to various hospitals in the district on Sunday. But there is nothing to worry," she said. "There is no need to get hospitalised for common cold."
"People who are travelling to distant places are advised to get in touch with the district administration. Those who come from abroad must mandatorily remain quarantined at home for 14 days," the DC said.
"There are reports that hostels are asking students to produce coronavirus-free certificates. No one can demand such certificates," she said.
The DC once again urged people not to pay heed to rumours on coronavirus.
