Mangaluru, Mar 14: Great events become memorable when symphonies of ideas become celebrations. Shree Devi Sambhram 2020 concluded with the valedictory function on March 13 creating memorable events for two days. It was an unparalleled medium for students to unbridle their ideas for a great experiential learning in the domains of Technical, Management and cultural spheres. Air show, gully cricket as well as sound boosters of DJ TNO of Mumbai, enthralled the audience with their spectacular and stupendous performance.
Shree Devi Sambhram 2020 organized by Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Kenjar is an annual Technical Management and Cultural festival, a forum to empirical learning as well as to captivate spectators with great solutions, to technical and management applications.
The objective of the two-day fest was to create a matchless forum comprising intellectual and artistic prowess, simultaneously opening a platform for sharing mutual experience, skills and talent to reach their collective and individual aspirations.
Shree Devi Sambram-20 helped students in building a professional outlook, leadership skills, teamwork, business acumen, resource generation as well as managing people of diverse backgrounds. This edition of Shree Devi Sambhram-20 was organized on March 12 and 13 in association with Echelon-20 and Medha-20.
Shree Devi Sambhram 20 featured a plethora of events, both technical and cultural. The technical events included paper presentation, quiz competition, coding, RC flying, water rockets, bridge making, code war, solid waste management, scrap welding, RC racing, robo wars, tech dumb charades etc. Cultural events like dance, mad-ads, treasure hunt, cooking without fire, anthakashari, photography contest and many more were held on March 13.
Echelon 20 of the MBA department, hosted a galaxy of events aimed at boosting the management skills inherent in today’s youth. With a spectrum of Management and cultural events, Echelon 20 provided a platform for the best brains to interact and nurture their ideas transforming them into reality for better management solutions.
'Medha-20' – A national-level technical and cultural fest was organized by the department of Master of Computer Applications. Medha-20 was an entirely paperless fest. Android Apps and Websites were designed for various activities of the fest starting from registration until the result announcement. The participants could download these apps on their mobile phones using the QR Code given at the time of registration. X-Men was the theme for this fest. IT Parliament, IT Quiz, IT Manager, Coding, Variety show, Treasure Hunt, Mega Event etc were part of this fest.
Special attraction of Shree Devi Sambharm 20, was gully cricket with 45 teams participating in a format of over-arm bowling, displaying an adrenaline rush in the audience, for the best of the teams to win. Pompei College, Aikala were the winners while the runners-up were Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal. An air show with amazing aircraft models were part of the event. Takeoff and landing created a jaw-dropping experience in the audience present for the show.
A valedictory function was held on March 13. A Sadananda Shetty, chairman Shree Devi Education Trust presided over the function, Nidhish S Shetty, vice-chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust was the guest of honour, Dr K E Prakash, director, Dr Dilip Kumar K, principal, Prof Ashwin Sequira, convenor of Shree Devi Sambhram, Dr Nethravathy P S, convenor- Medha, Prof A S Venkatesh convenor- Echelon were present on the dais.
The overall championship winners of Shree Devi Sambhram, were NMAMIT, Nitte and the runners-up were Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil. The overall champions of Echelon in the PG section was won by A J Institute of Management while the runner-up was won by SDM Post Graduate Center Mangaluru. In UG section, the overall championship was won by SDM College of Business Management while the runners-up were Milagres College Mangaluru. The overall champions of Medha 2020 was won by MIT Manipal and the runners up were St Joseph Engineering College Mangaluru. Attractive cash prizes were given away to the winners during the valedictory programme.
