Panaji, Mar 14: The Shigmo parade in Panaji that was cancelled last year after the passing away of chief minister Manohar Parrikar will be held on Saturday evening, March 14.

Former officio, chairman of Panaji Shigmotsav Samiti, Sanjit Rodrigues said that given the zilla panchayat elections scheduled on March 22, the parade will have to abide by rules and avoid violation of code of conduct. He said that the troupe leaders are convinced in a meeting to begin the parade at 4.30 pm and finish at 10 pm as the administration has allotted that time.

The time and rhythm of the parade will be maintained by a volunteer and a police constable in each troupe. The route of the parade has been shortened by a kilometer. He said that the committee members are keen to maintain time and rhythm to prevent inconvenience to the organizers and spectators.
