Bengaluru, Mar 13: During his lifetime, J P Narayanaswamy extended a helping hand to innumerable poor people and supported the education of students. His son, J P Sudhaker began J P Narayana Swamy Prathistana, a service organization after the death of his father. He promotes the work of his father by being its president, working with determination to follow the ideals of his father and proceeds with the progress of ordinary people as his motto.
The prathistana which has nine trustees similar to nine invaluable jewels, has been distributing scholarships to backward class students in the state as per the principles of Narayanaguru. Scholarships worth Rs 70 lac are distributed this year.
It provides old-age pension to the weak, monetary help to the poor, sick and those who meet with accidents. It has organized health camps and blood donation camps. The prathistana provides skill training to graduate youth and helps them mould their career.
It has started clean drinking water units in villages wherever necessary. It is commendable that they are looking into the needs of the people. Elders and achievers who served selflessly in society are being felicitated. Special achievers and those who served in society are presented J P N Awards.
Dakshina Kannada in-charge trustee, Kusuma Ajay said in a press release that Rs 20 lac worth scholarships will be distributed to eligible students by J P N Prathistana in Gokarnanatheshwara temple, Mangaluru on March 15.
The programme will be held in association with J P Narayana Swamy Prathistana trustees and conveners, Gokarnanatheshwara temple management committee and Guru Charitable Trust. The organizers in a press release requested everyone to attend and make it a success.
