Mangaluru, Mar 12: Negligent driving and violation of traffic rules led to an accident at Kottara on Thursday, March 12.

CCTV footage shows two students on a bike, riding on the wrong side of the road. Both of them are not wearing a helmet.

Meanwhile, another person riding a scooter on the correct side of the road is caught off guard and crashes into the bike. Even the person riding the scooter was not wearing helmet.

The students as well as the scooter rider fall due to the accident. All three have sustained minor injuries. Kottara road is usually a busy stretch and the negligent riding could have led to a major accident.

The students as well as the scooter rider were helped by the localities and were given first aid.

    Our toothless laws and headless corrupt authorities coupled with senseless drivers are the three main reasons for all the accidents. The way some of these youngsters ride the two wheelers as if they are playing with some kiddy toys.....! Only God has to save this country.

    This is not an accident - the student rider on the motorbike should
    be tried and put behind bars for felony.

    Driving on the wrong side of the road does not qualify the erring
    student for a Drivers' Licence.

    Hope the Traffic Dept. will implement all the laws of violation against
    such drivers and as well as riders, who are very often seen driving on
    the wrong side of the road, all over Mangalore and Udupi. Problem is
    one does not see many Cops or Traffic Cops at any time although they
    are so large in numbers - noticed only when a MP or the CM is in town.

    All three of them should thank their stars that the truck was driven by a good driver.

    The truck came to a full stop at a safe distance.

    Give vehicles to under-25s, and then repent.

    Near Jail Road Bejai, regularly I observed some students from nearby college riding a scooter not Tribble ride But Four people.
    I surprised, why police still not noticed. It is like teasing or challenging the Mangalore police.

    It is common sense that in any accident both or one has to make mistake....need not be deliberate but vehicle may be blamed in some accidents....but ones speed counts.
