Bengaluru, Mar 12: During the investigation of black deeds of underworld element Ravi Poojary, Central Crime Branch police here, it is learnt, have stumbled upon the information that a police officer had a share in the amount Poojary used to collect by threatening people. During his questioning, he reportedly told the policemen that he had close connection with a police officer whom he paid a part of the money.
He reportedly said that his followers paid a percent of the collection to the police officer of the level of assistant commissioner of police and sent the balance amount to him. He clarified that he had spoken to the officer several times through internet calls and that his goons were in constant touch with the officer.

It is a matter of curiosity whether the department will file criminal case against the police officer concerned. Even if they do not, if Poojary says the same thing in the court, it may give rise to trouble for the officer. The officer, it is said, came in contact with Poojary when he was working as inspector at Mangaluru. He was working in an important position in the city police commissionerate here till recently, but was transferred after this allegation about his involvement with Ravi Poojary's illegal deeds was revealed.
