Margao: Provide Facilities for NCC Cadets on Par with Karnataka - Bhosle

Margao, Nov 16: Avinash Bhosle, president of the newly formed State Ex-Cadets of NCC Association (SENA), has urged the government of Goa to take steps to forthwith provide facilities to  the NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets in the state, reservation in jobs and such other facilities on par with those provided by the government of Karnataka.

He said that the NCC Directorate for Goa and Karnataka is the same, but the facilities that are given to the NCC cadets in Karnataka are far better than the ones offered by the Goa government. The proposal to this effect has been pending with the state government since a very long time, he added.

Bhosle termed NCC as a very important activity that teaches the young minds the importance of discipline in life, in addition to improving the physique of the young boys and girls.

He said that the NCC day will be observed by the office bearers of the Association on Sunday, November 22, 2009 by paying tributes to the martyrs. He stated that the members will be intimated about the place and timing of the meeting individually.

The other office bearers of the association include senior vice-president - Dr Edward de Lima, vice presidents - Dr Jayant Budkuley, Dr Shubir Sansguiri and Jaiprakash Nagvekar, secretary - C S Araujo, joint secretary - Bhanudas Dessai, treasurer - Laximan Naik (Dte. Of Accounts), Jt treasurer - Mahesh Naik (SAG), PRO - Mevis Henriques and members - Mily Rodrigues, Pandurang Hegde, Dinar Singhbal, Elvis John D'Souza, D Satish and others.
