Mangaluru, Mar 3: A two-day National Conference will be conducted at St Ann’s College of Education (Autonomous), Mangaluru on March 5 and 6, 2020.
St Ann's College of Education, Mangaluru, strives for quality education and prepares teachers for modern society with personal, academic, research and professional excellence to spread the light of wisdom and knowledge to humanity.
The College has carved a niche for itself over the years with its establishment in the year 1943 as the first private training women’s college in Karnataka. The undergraduate College of Education is now Postgraduate College of Education as it stepped into its 50th year. It has become an autonomous institution from 2007 and is the only institution which has obtained autonomous status among the college of teacher education in Karnataka.
In 2008, the College has been recognized as a research centre by Mangalore University. The institution has undergone three cycles of NAAC accreditation with 5-star status and re-accreditation with ‘A’ grade with CGPA of 3.63/4.0 and 3.71/4.0 respectively.
With an apparition to address new challenges and demands on education system in the context of drastic changes and increasing complexity of today’s world and to address the various innovative practices in education, the College will be organizing a two-day national conference to provide a platform for educationists and researchers from all over the nation to deliberate on various issues concerning the perspectives and innovations towards quality education in the 21st century. The Conference intends to cover a wide range of sub-themes in the field of Teacher Education, Higher Education, Constitutional Provisions and Policies of Education, ICT in Education, Education for promoting vocation and Entrepreneurship and Physical Education, Yoga and Development.
The College has extended invitations for the National Conference – March 2020 and which has a meaningful and interactive experience with Scholars and Experts. All committee members along with the director and principal Sr Zeena AC, Dr Sharmila Mascarenhas, assistant professor and the convener and Sr Dorothy D’Souza vice-principal and the organizing secretary look forward to the active participation by the masses.
