Udupi, Nov 7: In view of the increasing incidents of chain-snatching and the risk being faced by the women living alone in houses, and to reinforce the relationship the policemen have with the masses, a mass contact programme of the policemen is being organized at Pilar Jalamel school premises at 4 pm on Sunday November 8, under the aegis of the district unit of Karnataka State Council for the Physically Challenged Persons, Pilar Infant Jesus Shrine governing council and the villagers of Pilar.
Parish priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva, Fr Richard Coelho, will inaugurate the programme. Wilfred V Gomes, president of Karnataka State Federation of Physically Handicapped Association in Karnataka ®, Shirva, will preside.
Pilar Infant Jesus Shrine priest, Fr Maxim D’Souza, Karkala deputy superintendent of police, Santosh Kumar, Kaup circle inspector, Cheluvaraj, Shirva police station sub-inspector, N C Ganesh, Mudarangady gram panchayat president, Ravindra Prabhu, and Rtn Michael Mathias from Shirva will participate as chief guests, a release stated.
