Mangaluru, Feb 27: In Dakshina Kannada district, PU examinations will be held from March 4 to 23 in 51 examination centres. To facilitate smooth conduct of the examination and to ensure transparency, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, has passed an order to take steps to close down photocopy centres located within 200 metres radius of the examination centres during the examinations, and also enforcing prohibitory orders.
As per the order, helping to indulge in copying for the examination, distribution of answers either by way of slips or other methods, distributing other things, conveying information etc have been completely banned
Carrying any explosives in the prohibition zone, possessing lethal weapons etc have also been banned. Making or sending signs to convey information or transferring information relating to examination and indulging in such other things have also been completely banned. As per the order, photocopy centres functioning within a radius of 200 metres from the examination centres have to close down an hour before the start of the examination and till the examination timing is over. This order does not apply to programmes, functions and meetings being held either by the government or as per the government orders. It also does not restrict police officers, bank security staff and other such staff from using batons or arms during their duty hours, a release from the office of Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner stated.
