Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport seize 619 grams of gold, one arrested

Mangaluru, Feb 26: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport confiscated 24 Karat gold that was being brought illegally to India and arrested one on Tuesday, February 25.

Moideen Arzan, a native of Uppala in the district of Kasargod of Kerala state was arrested by the custom officials for smuggling 619 grams of told valued at Rs 26,30,750.

He arrived from Dubai via Air India flight number IX 814.

The gold was concealed in paste form in rubber capsules that were hidden inside the rectum of the passenger. After purification of the rubber capsules, the custom officials were able to get 619 grams of 24 Karat purity gold.

The accused has been produced in the court of CJM.

    If this is common then just imagine how many people were successful so far and escaped from law? Better Mangalore airport installs full body scanners and with that zero escape.

    There is not a single day, when smugglers are not intercepted, by customs officials from MIA !!! Passengers from Kasargod and North Kerala district, are notoriously law breakers !!!!
