Mangaluru, Feb 24: The inaugural function of the old students union of St Ann's Higher Primary School which took place on February 23 at the school hall brought immense pleasure as they witnessed alumni coming from different parts after many years coming together.
It began with a formal registration followed by invocation through a prayer song. The guests were welcomed with a dance by the children. Sr Rosemita headmistress of the school Welcomed the gathering. Sr Maria Kripa, joint secretary of the institution, the chief guest Umesh Karanth, lecturer in DEd institute, Sr Rosemita, the president of the association were the guests on the dais.
The association was formally inaugurated by lighting a candle by the guests along with teacher and student representatives. The members were then chosen. Uday Ravi Shetty volunteered to be the vice-president and Harish Rao became the secretary.
The 20 students volunteered to become the members of the executive committee. The rules and regulations were read by Mable while Karanth explained in detail the need for building up the association in order to strengthen the bond between each other and the school. Rajeshwari compered the programme. It was named as SANTHASM.
The members were entertained with a few games and the meeting ended with the school anthem.
